Earlier this year, Yellowhammer released our inaugural “Power & Influence 40,” a list of the 40 most powerful and influential people in Alabama politics. We also released a list of 8 “Power & Influence Up and Comers.” This list included 8 individuals who Yellowhammer believes could be the next generation of leaders for the state.
We now believe it’s time to shed some light on Alabama’s local leadership.
Next week, we will release our “Local Leader 20.” This list will include 20 of our state’s local and business leaders with the brightest political future. From mayors and city councilmen to businessmen and county commissioners — this list will give Yellowhammer readers a sense of how deep Alabama’s political “bench” is.
And we want your help.
Do you know a local or business leader who deserves to be featured on Yellowhammer’s “Local Leader 20″? Send your submissions here. Include their name, current position, and a short synopsis of why you feel they should be recognized.
Cliff, Sorry that I had to just identify Becky as leader of WTP. She is involved in video production on issues, lobbied the legislature, has meetings with the Gov, and led the way on the CCSI issue.
We have loads of good activists in Alabama, some of the best
Becky Gerritson, leader of the Wetempka Tea Party and quickly becoming a strong voice statewide
Elois Zeanah, leader of the Alabama Federation of Republican Women, and a GREAT influence on the legislative process
Two names come to mind
Marcelo Munoz, vice chair of the Shelby County GOP executive committee, and active Tea Party member.
Susannah Green, president of the Rainy Day Patriots Jefferson Shelby Tea Party group. ‘Zan’, as she’s known, has headed up the chapter with consummate energy and enthusiasm since its founding three years ago. She’s done so while the husband of one Marine, the mother of another, and a busy lady on several fronts.
Both these individuals belong on your Local Leader list.

Thank you, Rev. Great submissions. I’ll make sure they are both added to the pool of names for consideration.

Both excellent leaders…glad they’re on our team.
